Innocent young Dorian Gray has his portrait painted by a lock friend. Soon after, below the influence of amoral Lord Henry Wotton, he jilts his fiancee, chief to her suicide. Eventually the painting, secreted in his childhood playroom, becomes almost hideous to behold. But Gray placid has individual pure attachment - Gladys, daughter of the original painter.
