The Anxiety scale assesses autonomic arousal, skeletal muscle gear, situational anxiety, and subjective contact of anxious affect. The Stress scale is susceptible to levels of chronic non-specific arousal. It assesses difficulty relaxing, nervous arousal, and being readily upset / agitated, irritable / over-reactive and impatient. Subjects are asked to utter 4-point severity / frequency scales to rate the extent to which they take experienced each state upon the finished week. Scores representing Depression, Anxiety and Stress are prepared by summing the scores representing the relevant items.
